Huntington Beach woman killed in 6-vehicle crash in Corona; Fontana man suspected of DUI

A minivan driven by a Fontana man arrested on suspicion of homicide and driving while intoxicated sped as fast as 90 Saturday, April 17, before initiating a six-vehicle crash on the 91 Freeway in Corona that left a woman dead, police said.

Dispatchers received reports of a Ford Windstar driving erratically in eastbound lanes in the area of Main Street and Lincoln Avenue at 5:50 p.m., California Highway Patrol Sgt. Dean Corey said. Less than three minutes later, it slammed into the back of a Chrysler Voyager, initiating a chain-reaction crash.

A man and woman sitting in the front of the rear-ended vehicle were ejected from the minivan as it spun out, Corey said. The woman died at the scene of the crash, and was later identified as Joan McKee, 71, of Huntington Beach by Riverside County Coroner’s officials. The man was taken to a hospital, where he remained hospitalized with serious injuries Sunday.

The man suspected of causing the crash and one other person suffered minor injuries, Corey said. The driver of the Ford was identified as Adrian Antonio, 41, of Fontana, and was arrested Saturday evening following his release from a hospital.
