Gunfire killed one person and wounded another who were in a car that slammed into a house in Fullerton on Friday evening, May 28.

Police received reports of a traffic collision and a shooting in the area of the 3500 block of West Valencia Drive, near Magnolia Avenue at about 7:16 p.m., Fullerton Police Cpl. Billy Phu said.

Responding officers found two people suffering gunshot wounds inside a Toyota Prius that went through a gate and crashed into the front of a home.

Both victims were male, Phu said. One was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital.

An update on the patient’s condition was not immediately available.

A description of any possible suspect or further information about the shooting were not released Friday evening. Valencia Drive was closed between Magnolia Avenue and Gilbert Street while police conducted an investigation.

The driver-side door of the Prius hung open and a part of a black metal fence rested on its hood as police were seen lining the area with yellow tape in footage recorded at the scene Friday evening. People were inside the home at the time of the crash, but none of them were hurt, Phu said.
