Firefighters knock down commercial building blaze in Buena Park

Firefighters needed just under 50 minutes to knock down a blaze that erupted at a single-story commercial building in Buena Park on Saturday night, June 4, authorities said.

No injuries were reported, Orange County Fire Authority officials said, though it wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was inside the building at the time firefighters were called.

Firefighters were called to the 7600 block of Ninth Street, near Beach Boulevard, just before 8:10 p.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and fire at the rear of the building, OCFA spokesman Capt. Thanh Nguyen said.

A brief video posted by the department showed flames on the building’s exterior. The fire was knocked down about 9 p.m.

Firefighters from Anaheim and Fullerton fire departments helped fight the blaze, Nguyen said.

Fire investigators were on scene and working in hopes of determining the cause and origin of the fire, officials said.
