Two people were injured and 20 people were displaced Thursday, Feb. 18 after a fire in Fountain Valley burned multiple units in an apartment complex, authorities said.
The fire was reported at around 11 a.m. at 17372 San Luis Street, according to a fire dispatcher. The residents inside escaped though two people were injured, at least one burned, and taken to hospitals.
Flames and smoke were seen burning between the buildings in adjoining yards. It was immediately unclear how serious the two victims were injured but one of them reportedly was burned.
A fire dispatcher was not immediately sure how many total units were impacted. The fire burned in a neighborhood with several multi-unit buildings.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. Investigators were working to figure out what sparked the blaze.
Resident Nathan Medellin was in his kitchen eating cereal when he saw his landlord’s house behind his home on fire.
He ran out and saw that his landlord got outside.
“I ran back in, grabbed my shoes and the cops were pulling me out saying, ‘You can’t go back in,’ ” Medellin said.
The young man was emotional as he recounted that some of his sports memorabilia, letterman jacket and sports equipment from his high school days were burned.
“As long as everyone’s okay … all the other stuff is materialistic stuff,” he said. “But that stuff has memories.”
