FBI releases photos of 7 suspects in Capitol attack on officer

The FBI has released images of seven people suspected of attacking a Washington, D.C., police officer during the Jan. 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol.

The flier issued Sunday shows the men suspected of beating and tasing Mike Fanone, an attack during which people were heard yelling, “Kill him with his own gun.”

Fanone, 40, survived the attack, though he suffered a mild heart attack. He told CNN that several of the rioters appeared to have misgivings after he yelled that he has children — he’s the father of four — and they protected him from attackers until help arrived.

The FBI also released images of a suspect in the planting of pipe bombs at the offices of the Republican and Democratic national committees. A reward of $50,000 is offered in that case. The person’s face is obscured by a mask and hooded jacket; two of the images focus on the shoes as a distinguishing detail.

People who wish to provide information about any of the suspects are asked to call (800) 225-5324 or submit information to fbi.gov/USCapitol.
