Driver dies in fiery crash after hitting parked car in Huntington Beach

A driver was killed in a fiery crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach early Wednesday morning, June 9, authorities said.

Huntington Beach police were called just before 1:30 a.m. to the crash just north of Huntington Street and found the vehicle on fire, police spokeswoman Jennifer Carey said. The driver had died.

The driver was traveling south on PCH when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered to the right and hit an unoccupied, parallel-parked car, Carey said.

It wasn’t yet known if speeding, or distracted or impaired driving were factors in the crash.
