Deputies investigating Stanton nightclub shooting learn of victim who died at hospital

STANTON — A 28-year-old man was shot to death early Saturday, and officials believe it happened outside a Stanton nightclub.

The shooting was reported at 2:30 a.m. outside the Mexico de Noche nightclub in the 9000 block of Magnolia Avenue, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies located a number of shell casings but no victims when they arrived at the scene, officials said.

Shortly afterward, a hospital reported that a 28-year-old man died from gunshot wounds there, sheriff’s officials said.

It was believed he was wounded in the shooting outside the nightclub, sheriff’s officials said.

His name was not released pending notification of relatives.
