In California, 348 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Sunday, June 13, according to end-of-day totals on public health websites, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,773,678.

For the first time since March of 2020, there were no new deaths reported statewide Sunday, for a total of 62,884 people who have died from COVID-19.

The state reported 36 fewer hospitalizations from the previous day, bringing the number of current hospitalizations of those infected with the coronavirus to 1,170.

According to the California Department of Public Health, 38.9 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 45.9% of residents were fully vaccinated as of Sunday.

NOTICE: As COVID-19 cases continue to decline in California and the state reopens for business, the newspaper’s daily COVID-19 tracker will be changing, too. Starting Tuesday, we no longer will publish a daily tracker and will be switching to weekly data collection, publishing a weekly COVID-19 tracker each Sunday, starting June 20.
