Coronavirus tracker: California reported 982 new cases and 19 new deaths on June 9

In California, 982 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Wednesday, June 9, according to end-of-day totals on public health websites, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,770,823.

There were 19 new deaths reported statewide Tuesday, for a total of 62,795 people who have died from COVID-19.

The state reported 25 fewer hospitalizations from the previous day, bringing the number of hospitalizations of those infected with the coronavirus to 1,279.

According to the California Department of Public Health, 38.5 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 45.2% of residents were fully vaccinated as of Wednesday.
