Coronavirus tracker: California reported 1,890 new cases and 96 new deaths as of April 30

According to Friday’s end-of-day totals on California public health websites, there were 1,890 new cases of the coronavirus reported in the state, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,715,327.

There were 96 new deaths reported statewide Friday for a total of 61,410 people who have died from COVID-19.

Hospitals saw a decrease of 28 patients on Friday, reducing the total number of people presently hospitalized with coronavirus-related illness to 2,001.

According to the California Department of Public Health, 29.6 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 31% of residents are now fully vaccinated.
