According to California public heath websites, Friday’s end-of-day totals reported 54,532 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of people who have been infected to 1,803,258.
There were also 279 new deaths reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 22,429.
An additional 433 patients were admitted into California’s hospitals bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 17,398.
