Car slams into Santa Ana apartment, 2nd crash into that complex this month

A driver crashed into an apartment in Santa Ana late Saturday night, the second time this month that a vehicle slammed into that complex.

The crash was reported in the 1600 block of West Memory Lane, where officers arrived to find a Corvette that had come to rest on the balcony of a first-floor apartment, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

The driver was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. There was no one else in the smashed-up vehicle and no reported injuries by residents of the apartment complex.

It was not immediately clear what caused the driver to lose control and crash into the apartment building

The building — located near The City Drive — is in the same complex where a minivan crashed into a first-floor apartment on May 1, police confirmed. The minivan ended up inside the building. That driver reportedly ran off; a man and woman inside the building were injured, police said.
