A GoFundMe account to support a popular Victorville roadside museum, which was burglarized and vandalized earlier this week, raised $2,280 as of Sunday morning, museum officials said.
The account was set up for the California Route 66 Museum, a popular tourist attraction, to recover stolen or damaged items and the insurance deductible, the museum announced on Twitter. The organization is hoping to raise $5,000. The $2,280 came from 22 donations, according to the account page.

The museum, which is run by a non-profit organization that receives no government funding, was broken into early Monday morning, it said on it’s Facebook page. Many of the displays were damaged, the post said.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies, using surveillance video, were able to identify a suspect, the post said.
Roy Fonder, 25, was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 23 on suspicion of burglary, attempted burglary and vandalism of more than $5,000. He was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, according to jail records. Bail is set at $200,000.
Fonder was charged with those three counts with an enhancement of a prior felony Thursday, according to court records. The case has been suspended, awaiting a mental health hearing, which is scheduled for March 7.
Update: Based on surveillance cameras, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a man in connection with this morning’s break-in. Thanks to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Deputies in their quick response. The museum will be close for the next few days.

The museum was closed four days before reopening on Friday.
