Cal State Fullerton police seek man after campus break-ins

Campus police are looking for a person of interest in connection with a series of break-ins at Cal State Fullerton that took place early Sunday morning.

University investigators on Monday released a photo of a unidentified man entering McCarthy Hall at the main Cal State Fullerton campus around 3 a.m., describing him as a “person of interest” who they want to question.

Around the same time the photo was taken, police say more than a dozen offices, classrooms and labs on the campus were broken into by force, and “several” unidentified items were taken, according to a university police statement.

Police say the man was around 5-foot-8 and wore a green cloth “beanie-style” hat, jeans, a white t-shirt and a black backpack.

A skateboard with light-up wheels, which the man is believed to have been riding, was left at the scene. Other “various items deemed as evidence” were also collected, according to the university police statement.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the man in the photo, or about the break-ins, to contact the Cal State Fullerton Police Department at 657-278-2903.
