A Beverly Crest residence where three people were killed and four others were injured in a shooting on Saturday, Jan. 28, was burglarized a day later, and police believe it may have been the short-term renters returning to the scene.
Around 10:15 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the home on the 2700 block of Ellison Drive for the reported burglary, according to Los Angeles Police Department Detective Meghan Aguilar. There was no one found on the property when officers arrived but there were signs of forced entry into the home.
The owner of the property was contacted by police, though they declined to file a report, Aguilar said.
It was not clear what had been stolen from the residence on Wednesday, Feb. 1, but “it is possible the short-term renters returned to collect their belongings,” Aguilar said.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, where the luxury home was serving as a short-term rental for several people who had gathered there, police said.
Authorities were continuing their investigation into the shooting this week, though police had not specified how many shooters were involved as of Wednesday, and no description of the suspects have been released.

The victims were identified on Sunday as Iyana Hutton, 33, of Chicago, Nenah Davis, 29, of Bolingbrook, Illinois and Destiny Sims, 26, of Buckeye, Arizona.
Two of the injured victims were released from hospitals on Monday, and there was no update on the other two victims who were in critical condition on Monday, Aguilar said.
