The Airport brush fire north of Corona has been completely contained, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said Saturday, Dec. 12.
Containment is the percentage of the fire area where crews have built a line that they believe will not allow the flames to escape.
The fire burned 1,087 acres. No buildings were reported damaged. The cause remains under investigation.
The fire started Dec. 1 in the Prado Reservoir area on the border of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. It prompted evacuations and the temporary closure of Corona Municipal Airport and a portion of the 71 Freeway.
