After storms, milder weather expected this week in Southern California

After last week’s winter storms and a light drizzle of rain in parts of Southern California on Monday, Feb. 1, meteorologists said that the upcoming days should bring fairly mild weather.

While there may be clouds in some areas of the region, temperatures will be much warmer than last week. There is a chance for more drizzles through Wednesday for Orange County and the Inland Empire.

“We did have a chance of rain a couple of days ago coming in Wednesday,” meteorologist Kristen Stewart said. “But it looks like not so much anymore, those chances dwindled.”

High temperatures in Los Angeles County through Wednesday will be around the 60s and could warm up to the 70s by the weekend, Stewart said. Same for Orange County and the Inland Empire, meteorologist Adam Roser said.

No snow is expected in the local mountains for this week, but last week’s storms left up to three feet of it on the ground in Big Bear and other mountain areas.

“It was a good dosing of snow for the higher elevations,” Roser said.

Mountain and desert areas will likely be mild and sunny for the rest of the week, but Roser said they could see some breezes on Wednesday.
