8 arrested in Fountain Valley after police discover suspected marijuana grow house

Investigators earlier this month found hundreds of marijuana plants during a search of a suspected illegal grow operation in a Fountain Valley home, police said on Thursday, Dec. 17.

After neighbors complained, detectives began investigating the residence in the 8500 block of Cape Cod Avenue, in a neighborhood of single-family homes near Newland Street and Talbert Avenue.

While carrying out a search warrant on Dec. 3, investigators found more than 650 marijuana plants, more than 450 pounds of “dried marijuana product” and equipment believed to be used to cultivate marijuana, according to a Fountain Valley police statement.

Eight people inside the home, in their 30s and 40s, were arrested on suspicion of cultivating, harvesting and maintaining a marijuana grow, police said. Authorities described them as being residents of Fountain Valley, Anaheim, Midway City and San Francisco.
