5 injured, transported to hospitals in Seal Beach hit-and-run crash

Five people were injured and transported to trauma centers following a hit-and-run crash in Seal Beach on Saturday night, police said.

The crash occurred at Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway and involved two vehicles, according to Seal Beach Police Department spokesperson Lt. Julia Clasby.

No suspect had been identified as of 10 p.m. Saturday — Clasby said that after the crash, a suspect driver fled on foot northbound into a residential neighborhood.

The suspect was driving a Mercedes-Benz 300D, Clasby said.

All five of the injured exited the other vehicle before firefighters arrived on the scene at 7:14 p.m., Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Sean Doran said.

The initial call for service was a report of a reckless driver northbound on PCH from Huntington Beach before officers responded to the collision, Clasby added.

All lanes of Pacific Coast Highway at Main Street were closed for the crash investigation, Seal Beach Police said.
