For the second time in one week, on Saturday, Jan. 1, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department determined a bomb threat at Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills was false.
The Sheriff’s Department tweeted at 7:57 p.m. that a person claimed there was a bomb at the hospital. By 9:04 p.m., the bomb squad determined there was nothing suspicious, Lt. Aaron Brady said Saturday.
Brady added it was a hoax and that no patients or staff were evacuated during the search. Rather, everyone sheltered in place, he said.
@OCSheriff investigators will work to identify who called in the threat so they can be held accountable.

The hoax comes one week after another false threat was made at the same hospital on Sunday, Dec. 26. In a post on Twitter, the Sheriff’s Department said investigators will work to identify those responsible for the calls.
