$1 million worth of drugs seized; 2 arrested by Huntington Beach police

Two suspects were arrested after police seized nearly $1 million worth of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, officials said.

The two male suspects, ages 21 and 29, were arrested Tuesday in the city of Bell. One of the suspects was in possession of 20 pounds of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest, and a search warrant issued for his home led detective to more drugs and guns, police said in a news release.

In total, 317 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 17 kilos of cocaine and fentanyl, and two handguns were recovered.

Huntington Beach police learned of drug supply distribution taking place in Orange County and Los Angeles, believed to be connected to a drug trafficking organization based out of Mexico. Detectives began investigating the organization in October.

No further information was released. The suspect’s names and additional details were not immediately available.
