A man was found dead Friday night, June 10 in a mobile home fire in Santa Ana that police believe was deliberately set.

Orange County firefighters responded to the 5000 block of West McFadden Avenue just before 10:15 p.m. and found a mobile home ablaze, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Thanh Nguyen said.

The fire was doused in about 30 minutes, he said. Afterward, firefighters found the dead man inside. No other injuries were reported.

No details about the man, such as his age, were available, said Santa Ana Police Cmdr. Phil Craft.

Police believe the fire was deliberately set and homicide detectives to investigate, Craft said. It wasn’t immediately known if the man was injured before the blaze.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, Nguyen said.
